About Cocoon4D

Cocoon4D is a service of The London Ultrasound Centre, a private scanning clinic in central London providing quality ultrasound examinations for pregnancy and gynaecology.

The clinic is owned by renowned Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Fetal Medicine Specialist Mr Darryl Maxwell, and Television Producer and Director Peter Demetris.

Their common goal was to create a clinic the highest medical standards, using state of the art equipment, experienced, qualified personnel in a calming and attractive environment with a focus on patient comfort.

In addition it was uniquely agreed to use technology and techniques from the world of professional video production and print publication to produce high quality media from 4D baby scans.

The result of their extensive research, testing and experience is the Cocoon4D baby scanning service established in the summer of 2007.


MR DARRYL MAXWELL | MBBS FRCOG MRANZCOG

Mr Maxwell is Senior Clinician at the Fetal Medicine Unit in Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London where he deals daily with high risk pregnancies, fetal abnormalities, multiple pregnancies and genetic fetal disorders.

Darryl provides the medical skills and leadership to the clinic and ensures that all staff performing 4D scans do so to the highest standards.

He is also available to consult and follow up on any medical matters that may arise during a 4D scan.

Mr Maxwell has been involved in early research for developing methods of 3D and 4D medical ultrasound, and has published and lectured on this exciting new development.


PETER DEMETRIS

Peter has worked as a television director for over 20 years, crafting numerous programmes for ITV, BBC, GMTV, Channels 4, 5 and Sky.

He has now applied his broadcast video skills to the world of 4D ultrasound, creating market leading products in DVD, print, digital still image and video media.

Mr Demetris developed the ‘live editing’ technique that allows patient’s DVD to be edited while their 4D scan is taking place and was the producer overseeing the Cocoon4D graphic design and DVD menu.

Peter also photographed all the original images on the Cocoon4D & London Ultrasound Centre Websites.
